Ginghamsburg United Methodist Church

The Church sought a building that was non-traditional in its expression of faith and one that would make people feel welcome. Their desire was to accommodate three times as many people without losing the sense of closeness they experienced at their existing facility. The goal was to provide worship, recreation/social, education, and administrative space for this rapidly growing congregation. The 54,000 SF building includes plans for future expansion to a total of 68,000 SF.

To fit the many program requirements within the budget, many spaces serve dual purposes. Operable panels open to convert classroom spaces into overflow seating. The Sanctuary easily accommodates basketball, volleyball, and banquets. Through its sheltered entry reaching out to the roadway, its use of practical everyday materials, and its user-friendly circulation systems, Ginghamsburg Church says, “You are welcome here!” Large areas of interior glass express the openness of the building and congregation. Ginghamsburg is a state-of-the-art facility, providing high-tech audio/visual enhancements of the worship experience.
