Chapel Electric Headquarters

Chapel Electric needed to relocate their offices to a building which better served their office staff and provided a home base for their field personnel. This building, located in the Research Park in Beavercreek, Ohio, was previously occupied by Dayton Power & Lighting. The Architectural Group performed a building analysis prior to the purchase of this building to ensure that the existing structure met the current code requirements and would not require extensive re-work in order to meet Chapel’s programmatic requirements.

Upon the closing of the building, The Architectural Group was required to complete the construction documents in one week so that permits could be pulled and construction could be completed within the 3 month total project schedule. The Architectural Group suggested involving the General Contractor during the drawing phase so that he could begin to get competitive pricing quotes and would be ready to begin work immediately upon completion of the documents. The Architectural Group also met with the plans examiners to expedite the permit process. The project was completed on schedule and the Chapel staff was able to begin work in their new offices on the date promised.

One of the biggest concerns Chapel had was the interior design of the executive offices. These offices needed to be laid out within an existing semi-circular lobby space and should convey an atmosphere of sophistication and modern qualities. Maple wood veneers, glass doors, neutral color wallcoverings, and rich carpeting were used to subdivide the space into various “pie” pieces that had the luxury of a full glass curtain wall along the outer curved edge. Maple detailing was also used at the Reception Desk and to trim the tops of new hardwall offices.
