City of Dayton Historic Design Services

We provided assistance to those living in the City of Dayton’s Historic Districts through their Historic Design Services fund. Building owners would get paired with an Architect to provide Architectural guidance to their rehabilitation projects to fit with the historic natures of the neighborhood they inhabited.

We would document and draw up the existing elevations, then draft proposed elevations to incorporate the changes the Owner wanted to make with our knowledge of the historic nature of these buildings. This could be anything from new porch additions, railing restoration, or complete façade renovations.

We would then present these drawings to the City of Dayton Landmarks Commission and ultimately get them a Certificate of Appropriateness in order to start planning the work they needed to do.
